Board and Ecovidrio launch this initiative to promote recycling and care for natural spaces.The Ministry of the Environment, Housing and Territory Planning, through the Natural Heritage Foundation, and in collaboration with Ecovidrio -the non-profit entity in charge of managing the recycling of glass container waste deposited in containers throughout Spain - have launched the initiative 'Help nature, recycle glass' on the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day.The objective of the campaign is to promote the recycling of glass containers and the care of the natural protected areas of the Community.The objective of this initiative is to promote the recycling of glass containers among citizens and enhance the image of the natural spaces of Castilla y León.Environmental education, which takes place in the Park Houses managed by the Natural Heritage Foundation, is another of the axes of this campaign.For this, the Foundation and Ecovidrio have created a total of 9 vinyl igloos with symbolic images of as many Natural Spaces, one for each province.In this way, you can enjoy the landscapes of the Laguna Negra and Circos Glaciares de Urbión;Guadarrama National Park (Segovia);the Regional Parks of the Sierra de Gredos (Ávila) and the Montaña de Riaño and Mampodre (León) and the Natural Parks of Montes Obarenes-San Zadornil (Burgos);Palentina Mountain (Palencia);Arribes del Duero (Salamanca);Shores of Castronuño (Valladolid) and Lake Sanabria and Sierras Segundera and Porto in Zamora.These nine glass containers will be located in the town of El Espinar, with the aim of promoting knowledge and valuing the natural appeal of each space.In the next few days and at strategic points in each province, an igloo corresponding to that natural space will be vinylized.Another of the actions presented is the creation of 100 mini domestic containers with the image of 5 iconic natural scenes from Castilla y León.This proposal will be on sale in the different stores of the Casas del Parque at a price of 23 euros.All proceeds will go to environmental education actions in each area.(Annex II)Glass recycling data in Castilla y LeónAccording to the latest official data for 2021, the citizens of Castilla y León recycled a total of 49,691 tons of glass containers, which means that each person recycled an average of 20.9 kilograms of this material.Regarding containerization, Castilla y León has a rate of 133 inhabitants per container and a total park of 17,860 containers for glass container waste installed throughout the Community.
