Thursday marked 50 years for one of Pittsburgh's most iconic buildings.

Watch the report in the video player above.

The U.S. Steel Tower was dedicated on Sept. 30, 1971.

At one time, the 64-story skyscraper on Grant Street was the tallest building between New York and Chicago.

It once housed a rooftop helicopter pad and the Top of the Triangle restaurant. The building even had its own barbershop.

Today, the anchor tenants are UPMC, which has its corporate offices in the building, and U.S. Steel.
